From our parks to our streets to all variety of City Services, residents have appreciated many of the transformations occurring in Grand Rapids.

Mayor Bliss has sought and received extensive resident input for these positive changes. Our police department is more reflective of our community and transparent than ever.  We have completed miles and miles of street and sidewalk investment, and we've replaced over 3400 wheelchair accessible ramps. Millions of dollars have been invested in 24 parks across the city, with over a thousand trees planted.  Over 5,300 residents were engaged during the Parks and Recreation Strategic planning process.

Multiple economic development projects have been supported, creating hundreds of new jobs while retaining hundreds more.  Thousands of building permits have been approved, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars of construction investment.  Partnerships like those with Local First have been a wonderful reinforcement for local business.

The City's commitment to mobility is stronger than ever, with greater investment in public parking, enhanced services for the DASH and Silver Line, as well as more bike lanes and bike infrastructure.

The Neighborhood Match Fund has supported many resident-initiated projects and our annual Neighborhood Summit has given every region of our City better tools to make improvements.

​

Our Housing NOW! initiative is focused on creating better outcomes and improving housing affordability for city residents.  We have progressed on preventing evictions and provided rental assistance for hundreds of households.
